What we must do is register these tech support scam numbers to stop them from exploiting people irrespective of being a victim or not we must complain about this scam business going around us. It mostly targets house-holds and elderly people because of their lack of technical knowledge they get easily panic and becomes easy target to hook. Let’s follow what one must do if they have come across or become a victim to such scams.
- Change the Password: If you realize that you have shared your password with the fake tech support agent, change it immediately. Also, if you are using that same password or a different combination of the same password for other accounts change it from all of those accounts.
- Scan Your Computer for Virus or Malware: Download and install or upgrade the already installed security software that you are using and scan the computer for virus and malware because the tools the fake agent use on our computer can infect it because of course, they connect their computer with many other computers in a day and why would they bother about safety precautions.
- Protect your Online Banking Details: Can we trust them for using the secure payment methods and if our shared online banking details and information is safe with them or not. Call your credit card company immediately inform them about the scammed payment and ask to reverse the charges back in your account and also tell them to block further payment into the scammer’s account and to be sure, check your statements for any charges that you didn’t make.
